Description
An experienced and capable Finance Manager required to oversee all day-to-day operations of the Finance team (4 Management Accountants & 2 Finance Officers) to ensure service delivery is adequately maintained.
The postholder will report to the Head of Finance and possess the following:
- Demonstrable CCAB qualification experience in Financial Management, in particular financial accounting and an in depth detailed knowledge of accounting procedures, standards, related legislation and ffinancial policies.
- Demonstrable experience in managing a department within a multi-dimensional organisation.
- Experience and expertise in finance and strategic staff management/leadership.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to translate complex financial issues into non financial terms - high level of technical financial skills.
- Conveys financial concepts clearly and persuasively.
- High level of IT literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Facilitation, influencing and negotiating skills.
- Ability to work as part of team and previous experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
The emphasis is on expertise in finance and experience in staff management.
Holds managerial responsibility for the provision of professional financial and management accounting function within the organisation in order to support and develop the core management functions of the Board to ensure Healthcare Improvement Scotland meets its statutory obligations and strategic objectives. This includes advising staff and managers on key finance issues including corporate governance, statutory legal compliance, risk management, financial planning, business case production and the overall management and performance of the finance function.
