Description
IP/MPLS design and implementation expert is required to work on a 3 - 6 month contract by a leading global Telecommunications organisation in Indonesia.
Tasks:
+ Oversee the operators and vendors teams in IP/MPLS network design and implementation in the current project.
+ Have hands-on experience in IP/MPLS network design and implementation for mobile operators and virtually being able to do design tasks and make required design decision not by others but by him or herself.
+ Strong vendor management capabilities to steer the Vendor for the operator during IP/MPLS network implementation (good understanding of the related operational aspects would be required as well)
+ Has expertise especially to implement IP/MPLS for3.5G/4G mobile operators. eg: How to provide phase and clock synchronous signal to base station with Ethernet/IP! (SyncE/IEEE 1588 )
+ How to implement MPLS-TP - How to run MPLS via Ethernet transport networks - Protection, Resilience
+ Capable to steer, advice and lead the operator and the Vendor.
+ Team player (no one-man show)
The perfect candidate my client is looking for would have at least 8 - 10 years experience in the telco industry. He or She is someone who is really into design, implementation and operation of IP and MPLS networks. Apart from fixed and/or mobile operator IP and MPLS networks he or she should also have a very good understanding on how the (public) Internet is designed, implemented and operated and being able to bridge between these two worlds private vs. public IP Networks.
Also a good understanding of the design, implementation and operation of network services like DNS, DPI, DHCP, Firewalls, Proxies should be there if possible and of course being able to cover IPv4 as well as IPv6.
Ideally he or she has designed large IP and MPLS networks and has been in charge for their implementation and operations too.
He or she also needs to have an understanding about consulting beyond pure technical consulting. eg understanding business strategies and models for fixed and mobile (or converged) telcos and other players in the Internet sphere (How to make money in the Internet eg as upstream provider, ISP, Google, Amazon.
