My client is a major player in the TMT technology vendor market. As part of the Software Division organization, the CDN Systems Integrator will be the subject matter expert and lead technical resource for Content Delivery Network (CDN) integrations into Cable and IPTV environments. This position demands expert level skills in the areas of technical ability, project management, and customer relations. Depending upon project scope and location, travel requirements can vary widely from 25% to 85% across both domestic and international boundaries.
Performance Objectives:
- Collaborate with the Solution Architects, Program Managers, and Software Developers to deliver large scale CDN solutions to Telco and Cable providers around the world.
- Design implementation and migration approaches to ensure a consistently high level of quality.
- Evaluate the integrity and drive the improvement of third party product releases.
- Develop the procedures, tools, and documentation to industrialize CDN systems integration.
- Travel to customer locations to install and validate hardware components.
- Remotely configure, upgrade, and support systems throughout the delivery process until they are handed over to the production support organization.
- Maintain appropriate focus while addressing high pressure issues in an interrupt driven environment.
- Display superb customer service skills with internal and external parties alike.
- Improve the performance of the Software Division as well as customer personnel by transferring knowledge in the form of mentoring, documentation, and training.
- Act as advisor and stakeholder in the development and sales bid review of CDN solutions and products.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to build and configure distributed enterprise systems quickly and consistently.
- Minimum 7 years working as a systems integrator and/or administrator in a UNIX/Linux environment, preferably in a cable or telecom environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Scripting languages and system administration tools.
- Excellent hardware/software migration and trouble-shooting skills.
- Ability to understand and work with various web services such as SOAP, WSDL, REST, etc.
- Seasoned experience installing, trouble-shooting, and maintaining complex TCP/IP network topologies.
- Proficiency in absorbing and appraising Cable/IPTV architecture and workflows.
- Experience with streaming and progressive download HTTP video implementations.
- Working understanding of regression test approaches and other QA methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with an acute attention to detail.
- Fluent in Russian beneficial.
