Description
Computer People have an exciting opportunity for a Windows Server Technical Specialist to work a 6 month contract based in Chester for a large Financial Services/Retail Banking organisation.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in Windows Client Server Build and application certification
Candidates will work primarily in the Server Build stage of the process and will have some liaison with Storage and Application Teams.
Duties:
* Confirm Servers are built to relevant standards.
* Review server documents reflect actual build.
* Review test reports to confirm Servers are fit for purpose in relevant environments.
* DR testing against predefined SLAs.
* Failover testing against predefined SLAs
* Update device listings and provide sign off to project
* Certification of Client applications against standard build
Essential Skills:
- Windows Client & Server Operating Systems
- Windows Server
- Windows NT Server
- Windows XP
- Active Directory (Specifically Group/OU manipulation)
Desirable Skills:
- VMware, Netapps
- Symantec knowledge
- An appreciation of SAN Storage
