An NHS organisation is currently looking for a Deputy Group Finance Manager to start ASAP on a 12-month contract on a 3 day week basis. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager the CCAB qualified finance professional will be expected to provide financial advice and support to two or more Clinical and Corporate Directorates, support the Group Finance Manager in working with General and Directorate managers, take responsibility for the preparation of the annual Financial Plan and for monitoring and formally reporting on the financial performance of the Directorates. The ability to influence the strategic plans and operational policies, facilitate the production of annual reference costs, including preparation of plans to improve the position will be integral components of the role.

The successful candidate will be required to play a significant part in developing costing systems, processes and information with the directorates and in ensuring that Service Line Reporting/Patient Level Costing information is understood by clinicians and managers and is used to improve financial and service performance.

Other Duties will include:
1.Providing confidential, sensitive and specialist financial advice and support to nominated Clinical and/or Corporate Directorates in order that they meet the targets set by the Trust Board
2.Monitoring the performance of the Directorates and in conjunction with Group and Directorate managers
3.Supporting the Group Finance Manager to work with General and Directorate managers in commissioning, capacity planning and the development of clinical networks within the overall strategic context of the Directorates
4.Responsibility for overseeing and co-ordinating the production and distribution of accurate and timely monthly budget reports for the Directorates within the Section
5.Participating in Directorate decision making with particular regard to Business Planning and Contracting and provide the financial components therein
6.Responsibility for the preparation for the Directorates' annual Financial Plans which will then be consolidated into the overall Trust Financial Plan for Trust Board approval
7.Working in conjunction with Directorate Management Teams, and taking particular responsibility for the financial aspects in relation to contracts, capacity planning and the development of clinical services
8.Ensuring that relevant financial information, particularly with regard to capital expenditure, recurrent and non-recurrent revenue expenditure and savings, is included within every Business Case developed by the Directorates
9.Supporting the annual production of Reference Costs for the patient related services provided by the Directorates as directed by the Trust's Cost Accountant
10.Providing advice on all other financial responsibilities, for example Trust Funds and Research Grants
