KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ILS/ISS Engineer shall support in the development and implementation of a Meteor ISS Solution for a number of nations:

His/her tasks shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Support in the development and agreement of an ISS "Core" and definition of National Specific Options for all the Nations
  • To successfully complete the ISS Meteor deliverables, bids and study programmes to time, cost and quality
  • Reporting to the ISS Manager and responsible for the self management, co-ordination and delivery of ISS
  • Be the point of contact for ISS between the Customer (internal and external), MBDA and sub-contractors on issues related to ISS
  • Provide support to Export bids
  • Provide experience of availability type contracting
  • Influence sub-contractor strategies for ISS including development of individual ISS SoW and negotiation of final contract Prices
  • Support and develop an ISS Architecture
  • Undertake a ranging and scaling exercise/modelling for spares
  • Support the UK Customer in the development of key documents for IAB submission including inputs to the Support Solutions Envelop (SSE) and generation of detailed processes and procedures
  • Support in the development of alternate relife strategies.
  • Life Cycle Cost (LCC) assessment and model generation and population
  • Work closely with the ILS Team ensuring there is a close awareness on ILS issues that may impact the ISS solution

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven track record of working in an ILS/ISS role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Def Stan 00-60.
  • Evidence of supporting and delivering bids including report writing and costing activities.
  • Proficient and confident to present and liaise with internal and external customers at senior level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK MOD processes and documentation in a support environment.
  • Knowledge and implementation of LCC.
  • A self motivated individual capable of working autonomously suggesting solutions to problems/situation.
  • The candidate will be literate, competent in the use of Microsoft office products, in particular Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Meteor and Typhoon would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Be co-located in Stevenage and be flexible to travel within the UK and abroad if required.
  • Experienced in different types of contracting from traditional Post Design Support (PDS) to availability contracting.
  • Colour Vision, Driving Licence.
