Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Storage
A leading retail organisation has a requirement for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer around storage. The role is initially for 6 months and the suitable candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing storage infrastructure, meeting project requirements.
You would also be providing an entry point for all storage deployment for projects for UNIX and Wintel platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Configuration, installation and monitoring storage management framework.
Implementing changes to infrastructure.
Planning of storage infrastructure.
Planning of backup and recovery environment.
Designs of SAN, NAS and DAS infrastructure.
LUN masking.
Storage virtualisation.
ISL, trunking and fibre frames.
Storage resource management.
Providing on-call support.
Skills required for the role:
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of NAS, SAN and DAS databases and data centre infrastructure.
Experience with UNIX and Windows Servers from a Systems Administration standpoint.
DAS/NAS/SAN installations and configurations.
Experience with EMC hardware, such as Symmetrix, VMAX, Clariion and VNX.
Experience working in a VMware environment.
