Financial Controller - Team Lead

My client, an innovative ICT Outsourcer providing ICT services and solutions to global blue chip clients, urgently requires a Financial Controller to join one of their service divisions.

Purpose

The role is required to assist the Finance manager and to support the Head of UK Controlling/the UK CFO and the overall purpose is to ensure that Group reporting obligations are met, insightful reporting of the UK business performance measures is provided and to provide support for financial planning through collaborative working between all relevant parties.

Requirements:

  • Fully professional qualified financial or management accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) or university degree, with a comprehensive Post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in managing high qualified Controlling experts.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the commercial and technical aspects of IT and Telecommunications outsourcing.
  • Ability and flexibility to deal with senior management (add-hoc tasks, abstractive thinking.)
  • Solid knowledge in IFRS and local GAAP
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly managing and manipulating data in Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills using tools like Powerpoint

Duties

Aspects of the role include supporting member(s) of the UK management team directly as required, supporting the other Controlling teams as required and also to carry out ad-hoc project duties as required from time to time. Core duties will include all month end activities concerning the Service Line, analysis and planning (eg Evaluates risks and opportunities of the Service Line, reporting and projections on all KPI's relevant for the Service Line - Order Entry, Revenue, Costs, GP, EBIT/DA, internal service charges etc), support for any presales, due-diligence, transition and transformation activities of new deals.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Manage finance professionals.
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Take decisions, guided by policies, procedures and the business plan.
  • Take guidance from a more senior manager within the function.
  • Provide technical guidance to other finance staff or colleagues outside the finance function
