Link Technologies is currently looking for a Data Services Manager for a long-term contract position in Norwalk, CT.
The Data Services Manager is a key leadership position. Notwithstanding the responsibilities and expectations enumerated below, this role is extremely critical in support of our current and planned transformational efforts intended, simultaneously, to enable and support a significant change to Information Management Operational' Practices and to evolve and drive more comprehensive Informational Management Design & Delivery' Practices to fulfil the organizations Standardization, Quality and Value' Mission. The right candidate will have a unique and fairly rich blend of Values, Abilities, Skills and Experiences in order to help catalyze and sustain the necessary progress and trajectories required to fundamentally transform the organization's entire Information Management landscape.
At the highest level, the Data Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the selection and construction of enterprise-grade data access, transformation, reposition, publication and reporting platforms and surrounding services that optimally balance the needs of the individual departments and technology strategy in a responsive manner.
Responsibilities
- Ensure common data assets are designed to be scalable, enterprise-grade platforms
- Ensure technologies and services are constructed to enable shared usage across enterprise technology groups
- Ensure common technology data services are managed well throughout the asset life cycle (eg highly reliable, fully secure)
- Ensure data assets and services support the requirements of the business demand pipeline
- Reporting to the Head of Common Services, this person will have end-to-end oversight and management of the firm's common technology data assets. This includes:
- Understanding the firm's business and technology strategies to inform asset planning
- Developing a common technologies multi-generational, multi-year roadmap
- Creating a technology enablement department with strong service orientation
- Building and managing a core technology team which addresses the asset life cycle (eg portfolio planning, product selection, build, deploy, run, support)
- Setting guidelines for department usage, integration, and support services
Position Requirements
Experience in leading technology transformations and build-outs
Technical-capability acumen - ETL, BI, DW/ODS, Integration Patterns & Practices, etc.
Technical-management acumen - Data Governance Models, Arch Patterns & Practices, Design Best Practices, Engagement, Resourcing/Staffing (including 3rd-Party Leverage Models) etc.
Technical-operations acumen - Administration, Support, Onboarding, etc.
The Data Services Manager position is as much about management (eg how to manage a department against a goal) as it is about technology thought leadership. This person is a leader who can own a high-level goal and independently drive toward achieving it.
