Interim Finance Director Retail Banking - 6 month contract
£700-£800 per day
The role is to partner the Managing Director, and drive both near term and strategic performance. In the near term, a high number of change initiatives need to be delivered in all markets, including the establishment of a cards finance organisation and processes (previously delivered through local ERBB Retail finance), delivery of a number of improvement initiatives recently identified, launch of new cards processing platform.
Role will be to provide forecasting, business performance management, planning, decision support, initiative evaluation etc to the ERBB Cards business. Key short term challenge will be building the team and operating model. Role will need to leverage existing best practice (and resources) from other businesses and finance support.
Essential Experience
*Qualified Accountant &/or MBA
*Experience of finance in large, financial services organisation (preferably, but not necessarily, cards)
*Intellectual competencies - analytical, strategic viewpoint but can also master detail when required, commercial perspective and acumen
*Technical competencies - good basic technical knowledge, and ability to leverage specialists in FC and regulatory areas to fully understand impacts of rules and regulations for our business
*Personal competencies - high degree of organisation, adaptable and flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, credible to key stakeholders, able to adopt a process and process improvement approach when required
*Interpersonal - strong ability to influence across teams and across different SBUs; able to drive change and to manage through others.
