Position Information/Position Summary:

The position is an 8-hr, entry level operator and may be on 1st, 2nd 3rd shift or 12 hour shift rotation on days or nights.

The position is an operator associate in chemical manufacturing. Operator Associate will be expected to continually advance their skill sets. Associate will begin training for and performing qualified Level I position tasks, which includes but not limited to fill-off and associated fill-off work and material handling. Associate will be expected to help team associates meet changing work demands (i.e. go where the work is). Associate must be willing to work in a team-oriented atmosphere and work overtime as necessary.

Required Skills and Education Requirements:
oKnowledge of plant equipment and procedures
oFamiliarity with material handling safety/hygiene issues associated with chemical production.
oAbility to learn and understand the operation and control of production
oAbility to perform in-process testing procedures as directed
oGeneral knowledge of chemical handling procedures including use of written work procedures
oGeneral knowledge of chemical loading procedures and equipment including DCS operation
oMaintain assigned inspection and or housekeeping responsibilities
oAbility to work in a team atmosphere with willingness and ability to help other team associates
oAbility to drive tow motors/fork trucks

Physical Requirements:

oOccasional lifting, bending and twisting of various range and motion requiring physical exertion when handling materials, drums or equipment
oAbility to lift 50 pounds
oAbility to stand and walk in work environment majority of time
oFrequent use of stairs required
oOccasional use of respiratory protection including air purifying, air supplied and self-contained air supplied respirators. Must pass fit test requirements for respiratory protection.
oUse of personal protective equipment to perform hazardous materials duties related to spill response and clean up activities
oWork environment varies between inside building activities and outside environment (ability to withstand various temperatures and weather conditions)
oUse of site mobile equipment. Must pass Mobile Operator Physical exam requirements.
