Job Role: Sr. Test Designer/Developer

Purpose:
The Sr. Test Designer/Developer is responsible for overseeing and assigning test case development and test execution for a Datawarehouse implementation project.  The position will be responsible for creating technical test cases to test ETL code, transformation and conversion logic.  The individual will work with local and offshore test case designers and testers.  The Test Designer/Developer must have a technical testing background as most of the testing involves testing ETL code.  Experience with testing tools is a must, preferably HP Quality Center. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Reviews requirements and develops test cases for Datawarehouse projects. Test cases will generally be focused on data validation and reports.
- Combines test cases into test scenarios.
- Understands and defines all test cases to satisfy each business requirement for the application being tested
- Creates 'mock' test data when naturally occurring data is not present
- Executes test plans and records results
- Queries data to validate results.
- Tracks and resolves issues identified in testing
- Documents, updates and organizes all testing materials according to defined procedures
- Produce high quality documentation 

Position Requirements:

- 4+ years documenting test cases of various levels (unit, integration, system, etc.)
- 5+ years executing and test cases of various levels (unit, integration, system, etc.)
- Proven experience testing in ETL/  Datawarehouse environments
- Experience translating requirements into application test cases
- Solid knowledge of current Testing/QA methodologies, best practices, and toolsets. 
- Experience with following requirements through an RTM
- 3+ years working with an RDBMS, preferably MicroSoft SQL Server
- 3+ years of SQL development experience
- Ability to analyze information and break down complex problems
- Ability to perform independent research, utilizing team member input as necessary
- Energetic self-starter, with desire to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when situation requires
- Experience in the Insurance Industry preferred
