Market Data Administrator Investment Banking MDSM MDM

Role synopsis: The Market Data Administrator role will involve managing all administrative aspects of market data, including, but not limited to:

-User request management
-Responsible for ensuring services are set up in the most cost effective manner
-Allocating costs to users via business cost centres
-Contract management and provision of appropriate services
-Ensuring that all services are reflected in the global inventory system in a timely manner.

The role will require working closely with all the necessary departments to deliver a high level of service consistently.

Key accountabilities:

The candidate will be responsible for global maintenance of the MDM 2000 system, which will include

-Updates to the MDM product, for example:
-Updates to pricing from vendors
-File uploads from vendors
-Updates to user profile changes
-Update of contracts
-Maintaining automatic uploads into MDM
-Obtaining the necessary contract signatures in a timely manner.
-Assisting finance with invoice queries and reconciliation
-Vendor/Exchange declarations
-Running appropriate reports and liaising with vendors as and
-Monthly usage reports
-Login Maintenance
-Registering logins with MDSL and issuing out to users, as required
-Managing the addition, deletion and transfer of logins as and when required

The candidate will also need to:

-Provide global Market Data administration, including, but not limited to, invoice reconciliation, accurate cross-charging to business lines, maintaining the global MDM system to provide an accurate inventory of product deployment and costs, by product, vendor and user;
-Prepare and issuing market data reports on an ad-hoc basis, and undertaking any remedial action resulting from these reports (eg updating the MDM database)
-Manager (MDM) is up to date and accurate, for all regions globally
-Resolve market data administration- related questions (eg pricing, cost allocation, user billing and product allocation queries);
-Liaising at all levels with the market data vendors, business and Market Data IT teams, as required
-Data analysis, and ongoing product assessment, to highlight product displacement opportunities
-Be able to operate effectively at a global level, building relationships with other members of global and local teams (eg Market data, Finance, Business lines) and will take responsibility for agreed objectives to support the global administration of market data
-Support MD month end closing, validation of exceptions and allocations

Essential criteria & qualifications

-Educated to degree level
-Experience of working within a Market Data team with good understanding of market data vendors and vendor contracts, including but not limited to Thomson Reuters, Thomson Financial and Bloomberg.
-Experience of working in the Financial sector (Tie 1 Investment Bank or similarly sized financial institution)
-Working knowledge of MDS 2000
-Strong communications skills - clear, concise and able to negotiate priorities with business users and Market Data IT teams
-Strong analytical & problem solving skills, as well as good issue and progress reporting skills
-Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven rapid learning capability
-Excellent teamwork skills
-Good PC skills including Microsoft Office
