Gulf Connexions Hong Kong is actively assisting a Major Airline in attracting an IT Infrastructure Portfolio Lead (Architect role) specializing in Storage and Database with expertise in all stages of the project life cycle. The Airline is currently undergoing a significant IT infrastructure restructuring project and is actively pursuing professionals to fill key roles. This is an exceptional opportunity to partake in an exciting project that involves a significant infrastructure transformation. The position is on a 12 month contract and pays a handsome salary. Working exposure within the Aviation industry will be taken in high regard.
Principal Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Expertise:
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more specific infrastructure stream(s).
- Create and maintain strategy roadmaps for your assigned infrastructure stream(s).
- Create and maintain standard infrastructure design templates for project delivery simplification.
- Deliver an Infrastructure Strategy life cycle to meet and manage business requirements.
- Retain an in-depth knowledge of market place infrastructure advancements and latest vendor roadmaps to maintain IMT management is kept appraised of the likely adoption, both short term and long term for the Airline
- Work effectively with and provide infrastructure expertise to Solution Architects, Infrastructure Delivery and Operations for your assigned infrastructure stream(s).
- Build and leverage SME expertise as well as portfolio management, commercial acumen and partner management skills
Delivery:
- Manage infrastructure demand from the business and operations.
- Provide infrastructure technical audit on internal and 3 rd party supplier proposals where required.
- Create and own key elements of project submissions for infrastructure projects.
- Work with architecture and delivery teams to ensure sufficient delivery governance according to agreed designs, principles and standards.
- Lead infrastructure technology evaluations in conjunction with Architecture, Operations, Delivery and Purchasing as necessary for infrastructure roadmap evolution and ad hoc requirements.
- Own Infrastructure focused projects and programs of work through their entire programme and project life cycles
- Work with both internal IMT and external stakeholders to understand the current and future technical and non-technical requirements from infrastructure
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
(Bolded items are mandatory)
- Expertise in Storage and Database, specifically Oracle
- Expertise with storage/backup/archive, specifically with HDS solutions
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 7 years in an architecture related position.
- Past operational and implementation experience
- Proven abilities to manage large scale solutions design and implementation work
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Highly motivated and strong character
- Good business acumen, with an ability to understand and address business issues
