Role: Database Developer
Key skills: SQL, Object Oriented Design (OOD), SSIS/ETL, database design.
Our client, a major UK Retail Bank, has an urgent requirement for a Database Developer to work on a complex Risk Transformation programme.
Role purpose:
A SQL Database Developer is required to understand an initial re-platforming activity as part of the Economic Capital Programme. The current MS Access solution requires rebuilding within MS SQL Server with scope including the extraction and transformation of data from a variety of data sources - from MDB files to CSV, Excel and SAS data tables. Scope to include development and implementation of error management solution.
Core responsibilities:
- support Business Analyst and Project Manager in the design, documentation and delivery of replatformed database solution
- integration into UAT and transition to business as usual teams
- solution to be modular, able to switch and port components (based around risk types - Retail/Wholesale, etc)
Key requirements:
- fluent in English (both written and orally)
- extensive experience in SQL Server 2005 and above
- familiar with transformation of a variety of data types (including SAS data tables, Excel and MDB)
- an understanding of ODD
- strong background in Banking or Financial Services
