The Role:
This role is based in the CIB Finance Central Support team, and will involve Preparing, analysing and consolidating CIB financials, with a particular focus on Non Core.
Budget, forecasting and planning are key to the role. The role is also responsible for the accurate statutory and management reporting of Non Core financials for CIB, and for planning the strategic solution to be implemented in 2010 for financial Non Core reporting. The role includes analysis and validation of all financials, and liaising with and providing information to the CIB Executive and to Non Core Division.
Key responsibilities include:
*Oversee monthly journals process for CIB Non Core (undertaken by financial control team) and undertake Flash process
*Provide insightful and commercially-focused analysis and commentary on the numbers to the CIB Executive, identifying variances to budget, month-on-month movements, underlying business trends, opportunities and risks
*Budgeting and forecasting for CIB, with a particular focus on Non Core, working with the CIB Executive, Corporate Banking Division and Non Core Division
*Work with the financial control team to analyse and understand the numbers used for statutory reporting
*Develop and enhance reporting and analysis
*Plan the strategic reporting solution for Non Core reporting
*Responsible for new and existing processes and procedures to support the integrity of the financial and management information
*Undertake ad hoc analysis to support the CIB, Corporate Banking Division and Non Core Division requirements
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
*Qualified accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA), with minimum 3 years work experience
*Strong technical knowledge, including preparation of accounts under IAS
*Knowledge of Khalix (financial reporting/budgeting tool) useful but not essential
*CM financial & MI systems useful but not essential
*Knowledge of banking products would be an advantage but is not essential
*Confident and capable of working with the business at all level
*Good understanding of processes and procedures to support the integrity of the financial and management information
*Understanding of statutory reporting requirements
