Key Accountabilities:
*YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITHIN THE FMCG OR FOOD INDUSTRY
*Numerate, good analytical skills and attention to detail
*Excellent negotiation skills
*Ability to be flexible and work to tight deadlines
*Minimum 5 years experience as a Category Manager

Buying
*Control Supplier negotiations to maximise profits on branded and own label product.
*Ensure all suppliers meet the requirement on Sales and Margin.
*Management and control of the Supplier base to ensure all levels of service expectations are being met including npd, promotional activity, quality, delivery and contact performance

Distribution
*To accurately forecast predicted volumes on all new, promotional and peaking lines.
*Over see the AS400 ordering and stock flow to stores on all new and promotional lines.
*Liaise with the warehouse and be proactive in dealing with any issues arising including short dated whse/store stock and poor supplier performance.
*Ensure that the stock control team are maintaining stock at agreed levels at all times.

Sales
*Create a strategy for each Category based on internal data, customer insight and external market information.
*In line with the Category Strategy complete Category Reviews to the agreed time scale;
oIdentify product ranging requirements.
oImplement new Category and product range plans.
oBe assisted by Merchandising to maximise the profitability of category.
oCreate a compelling customer offer with a competitive advantage.
*Use your entrepreneurial skills to select products outside of the range review process which will enable the category to be just ahead of the current trends and market dynamics.

Marketing
*Work with the Marketing team to maximise the success of the category and promotional activity through well orchestrated point of sale or other promotional media.
*Work with the Merchandising team to maximise the profitability of the category through customer friendly layouts.
*Ensure that the Marketing team has a firm understanding of the Category Strategy and are working for you in the effort to achieve your Category objectives.
*Develop an in-depth knowledge of the customer and supply base to understand which are the most appropriate levers to use to maximise business performance
