My client a leading FTSE 100 energy company with offices in Stockley Park is looking to recruit an IT Compliance analyst on an initial 3 month contract. This position is paying Circa £315 per day.

The role:

  • The Compliance Analyst acts as operational assurance by monitoring and reporting results of compliance. The Compliance Analyst, together with the Compliance Team, is authorized to implement all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of the compliance program.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day compliance including: Violations Reporting, Violation monitoring, Appeals and Compliance Training activities.
  • Collaborates with other departments (eg, Service Management, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Employee Services, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consults with the legal and/or Human resources as needed to resolve difficult compliance issues.
  • Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Provides input for the development of a system for uniform handling of such violations.
  • Monitors violations to identify trends, and as necessary, coordinates proactive remedial activities.
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; provides input into corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to individuals and senior management.
  • Works with the Compliance Officer to institute and maintain an effective compliance communication program for the organisation, including promoting (a) use of the Compliance Portal; (b) heightened awareness of Standards, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Compliance Officer, Process management and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance awareness and training program, including where appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as on-going training and awareness for all employees and managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in IT, or Relevant professional training
  • ITIL (Minimal to Foundation Level)
  • Strong experience of Professional IT Audit or Compliance experience
  • Experience on the evaluation and testing of internal IT, Process Controls.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of CoBit or COSO or other control frameworks
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance
