Senior Java Developer - Hedge Fund, Java, Lead, Development + Support
Up to £700pd
A Senior Java developer is required by a leading Hedge Fund client in London who will develop, support and maintain software to enable the financial systems in the Hedge Fund (Operations, Trading, Risk, Quant and Reporting). As the Hedge Fund is a substantial, growing business - you will have a lot of autonomy and responsibility to develop complex applications within a highly pressurized, exciting environment.
Key Requirements
- Degree qualified or equivalent (Computing, software or related)
- Industry experience - imperative that you have strong understanding and solid experience working for either an Investment Bank, Hedge Fund or Fund Management company
- Strong experience delivering complex systems that are supportable
- Full development life cycle experience
- Excellent experience and knowledge of best practice, design patterns and third party APIs
- Knowledge/experience of Behavior or Test Driven Design (BDD or TDD)
- Experience either in a lead capacity or mentoring and providing help to less experienced developers in the team
- Strong analytical skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience

- Java
- Databases (SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MS/Sybase)
- Web Services
- Spring Framework
- Swing/JIDE (additional)
- Matlab (additional)
Personal Skills
- Outstanding written and communication skills
- Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical members
- Self-motivated and driven
