Our client, a global Operator in the oil and gas industry, is looking to expand their team and are looking for a Power Systems Engineer. To perform the role of a Power System Engineer in the CPP team: From electrical discipline perspective defining Contractors' BOD, scope of work and priorities and supervising the work execution through to completion and approval.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Fully support the safe, timely and cost effective delivery of Water Infrastructure facilities which meet the required safety, quality & performance criteria.
  • Be the focal point for all activities associated with CPP Electrical Engineering.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency and timely input of electrical engineering data and give direction to Contractors, Vendors and Start-up Team.
  • Be responsible for site electrical engineering activities up to and including Mechanical Completion.
  • Site queries, Hazop etc Closeouts, Readiness for Startup, Inspections at Vendors works and site.
  • Set up, manage and execute the pre-commissioning and commissioning electrical activities, including commissioning procedures and Performance Testing.
  • Perform audits of contractors workflows to ensure compliance against their own procedures.
  • Participates in FAT and SATs as appropriate.

Required skills, experience and attributes will include but not limited to:

  • Tertiary qualifications applicable to the electrical engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable commitment to HSSE, HSSE leadership and improvements to HSSE practice.
  • Demonstrable ability to identify and manage interfaces and to work closely alongside operations teams throughout detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
  • Strong communicator, able to state key control and instrument goals and objectives, and present them clearly to the project team and to stakeholders.
  • Hazardous Area design and classification competency.
  • HAZOP and Risk Management workshop participation.
  • PLC and SCADA software and hardware design, documentation and commissioning.
  • HMI software development, document and commissioning.
  • Electrical design and commissioning for AC & DC motors, LV and HV power systems and protection
  •  Solid experience with E& I systems integration and automation systems.
  •  Solid experience on large scale Petrochemical/Oil & Gas field Projects from both owner and contractors perspective.
