Description
We require a Clerk of Works interim to come on board ASAP for initially 3-4 months (subject to change). Hourly rate up to and no more than £19 per hour Ltd. To provide an efficient and effective inspection and clerk of works service to projects carried out on Council homes. Building surveyors experience are the type of candidates and experience we are looking for Stock condition surveyor Occupied properties. Previous contact within communities would be an advantage if the candidate has done rebate work IT: Normal Micro Office skills. Full time position - 37 hours
KEY RESULT AREAS
1. To survey properties with a view to assessing their need for maintenance and possible inclusion into works programmes.
2. Assist Project Officers and Quantity Surveyors with specification of works.
3. Visit sites in order to monitor and supervise construction works to ensure compliance with conditions of contract, compliance with specifications, Health & Safety etc. and ensure volumes of works carried out compare to any interim and final invoices prepared by Contractors.
4. To issue written site instructions to Contractors to vary works within approved limits or after discussion with Senior Project Officers and assist in the collection of date and documentation to check the validity of claims for extra payments.
5. Required to assist Officer responsible for CDM with solutions and recommendations.
6. Ensure works conducted in cooperation with tenants needs and that the Contractors are abiding by the terms of their contract with regard to customer care.
7. Maintain a site diary which contains accurate daily record of weather, labour, plant and progress.
8. Assist in the formulation, monitoring and report on key performance indicators.
9. To ensure that at the commencement of works the Contractor provides and adheres to programme of works and ensures that customers and the Council are informed of any alterations.
