Our client is a leading Australian financial services organization that has some of the most complex technical systems in the country. They have an excellent 'household' name that is trustworthy, highly regarded and known for taking care of the Australian people. Due to a new system implementation they are now looking for a seasoned FX developer to help with the latter integration stages of a new platform, specifically the Reporting area.
This role sits in a Larger Financial Markets Foreign Exchange team that consists of a Developers, Business Analysts, Quants, Traders, Risk, Compliance, Settlements, Support people and System SME's. The team has been working on this very large scale system introduction for a number of years and is now looking to link the new trading platform into their main stream reporting systems. To do this they need to understand the information flows both internally and externally for P/L breakdown reports, position reports, cashflow reports and accrual reports to deliver this body of work.
To be successful in this position with will have to draw on your experience and knowledge of Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Markets (MM) reporting systems. You will responsible for engaging with multiple business users to understand their requirements and then scope, deliver and initially support the reporting solutions you provide for large sets of data. Drawing information from multiple sources you will have to use a range of technology skills including SQL, EXCEL and VBA to create the reports predominantly in the large scale oracle system with PL/SQL. Though an initial 6 month contract role there is a large scope of work here so a very high likelihood of extensions.
Requirements of the role:
- Strong knowledge of Foreign Exchange (FX)/Money Markets (MM) products/variables - eg Cashflows, Valuations, Accruals, Settlement flows, Regulatory Monitoring
- Strong interpersonal/stakeholder management skills - dealing with Traders, Compliance, Risk
- Broad Technical Reporting background - SQL, Oracle, PL/SQL
- Broad Technical Data Manipulation Skills - SQL, EXCEL, VBA, Unix Scripting
- Ability to work independently to source information, scope solutions and deliver results.
