REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology discipline with five to eight years of experience in the information technology field, which should include at least five years of information security systems data analysis and data management experience.
  • Professional information security certification (eg, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP), and experience with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and ISO/IEC 17799 compliance preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in a variety of IT concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining business critical information security technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Analyzes, implements and supports information security systems and applications, and recommends security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss. Undertakes moderately complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Makes well thought-out decisions on moderately complex information security issues, obtaining assistance from higher-level IT Security Analyst if necessary. Assists with architectural direction for enterprise-wide security technology. Assists with high-level integration of application development with information security policies and strategies. Stays up-to-date on emerging industry standards. Identifies, evaluates, conducts, schedules and leads technical analyses functions to ensure all applicable IT security requirements are met. Provides technical analysis of requirements necessary for the protection of all information processed, stored or transmitted by systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including % of Time)

  • 30% Evaluates and troubleshoots information security systems, which includes systems used for security monitoring and detection, response systems, identity and trust management systems, and security compliance systems.
  • 30% Supports information security strategies by researching and evaluating procedures to ensure the protection of the systems.
  • 25% Analyzes and evaluates data to identify security risks and exposures in support of information security systems operations and maintenance.
  • 20% Assists with the development of information security requirements in context of business needs, which includes working with internal customers from the business side to create access controls, data integrity and confidentiality controls, and security compliance controls.

- Typical work hours, but must be willing to be on-call via pager or cell phone providing 24-hour support.
