Description
We have an IMMEDIATE need for a Functional/Performance Software Test Engineer! This is a long-term, contract opportunity located in the Boston, MA locale.
DUTIES:
1. Design, develop, execute and implement customized performance tests for software applications with minimal guidance.
2. Present developed test plans to stakeholders for buy-in and approval.
3. Analyze data to make recommendations for performance improvements.
4. Perform load test applications outside of normal business hours to include evenings and weekends.
SKILLS
1. 3+ years experience using LoadRunner.
2. Command of industry standard software test automation methodologies in both functional and performance testing.
3. Ability to work in a structured development methodology environment.
4. Experience testing any of the following application/server platforms: Apache, WebLogic, Netscape, NetWeaver, MS IIS, SAP, and PeopleSoft.
5. Working knowledge of large LAN/WAN networks to include both software and hardware (eg Firewalls, Routers, subnets, TCP/IP sockets, etc).
6. Prior development (not test Scripting) experience in C/C++, Java JavaScript, C#, Windows or UNIX.
7. Proficiency in analysis, written and verbal communication skills, documentation skills, and ability to learn quickly.
DESIRED:
1. Experience with non-Mercury load simulation test tool vendor products such as MS TFS Web Load is desirable.
2. Mercury Interactive and active LoadRunner 8.0 CPC Certifications is desirable.
EDUCATION:
4 year degree with broad Information Technology background
