Position Summary
CCCi has a 6+ month contract opening for a software applications engineer at our major client in Duluth, GA. This position deals with the development and enhancement of a Self-Service Check Out system for Food and other markets. This project is being jointly developed with the help of several other internal and external software development groups both in the US and abroad. The consultant will be required to quickly gain expertise in various vendors' system software during the course of the project. The ability to work effectively in a team environment composed of peers and cross-functional members is very important as is the ability to be focused and a self-starter. Project work varies considerably in a range of technologies and environments from Legacy integration to up-to-the minute software development with the latest tools and technologies. Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges quickly is critical. Local and International travel may also be required.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- The consultant will be responsible for scoping, design, implementation, testing, and system integration of software components for this system.

Application Control, Interface Design and Implementation, Application Configuration Tools
BasicRequirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or ComputerEngineering or equivalent experience required
- MFC, ATL, Win32, COM/ActiveX, and C runtimeLibraries and APIs
- Either Strong C++ or Java (J2SE) skills arerequired - both are desired.
- Experience with NT/2000/XP Multi-threadeddevelopment required
- Experience with developing for Windows 32-bitenvironment and Win32
- Experience with Visual Studio C++ andassociated debugging tools
PreferredSkills
- 3- 8 years professional software development experiencedesired
- POSCheckout Application knowledge a strong plus
- SelfService and Retail Peripheral Knowledge very strongly desired
- Retailsolutions experience preferred (IBM, Retalix, NCR, SNI, and/or ICL)
- Experiencein Systems-level software design and development Object Oriented Design andAnalysis experience preferred
- Experiencewith Visual Source Safe and InstallShield or Setup Factory Experience withNetBeans and ANT OPOS/JPOS knowledge a strong plus
- Experiencewith Linux and Driver Level development a plus
- Experiencewith Communication with Serial/USB ports a plus
- Experiencewith multi-thread COM and or JavaBeans development a plus
