Description
Duties & Responsibilities- Install, configure and customise the Installation of Linux enterprise distributions and open source software in accordance with Client standards and the solution requirements, potentially on multiple different hardware and virtualised platforms, and into different Client and customer environments.
- Ensure that the appropriate support tools are deployed in line with the client environment, support team and Client requirements.
- Ensure Servers are also built to the appropriate security and compliance standards.
- Assist in defining and refining technical direction, and helping lead innovation within the team.
- Provide mentoring, knowledge transfer and written documentation so as to improve the overall level of knowledge and ability within the team.
- Assist the team leaders when required.
Required Technical Skills
- Solaris and RHEL and zLinux System Administration
- Disk Management functions (logical volumes, mirroring disks)
- TCIP/IP experience and knowledge
- Virtualization Technologies - Solaris LDOMs, zones, ESX, OVM
- SAN Storage and its Subsystem Knowledge
- Veritas clustering design and implementation
- SDDPCM, Power Path, MPIO
- DNS(BIND)/Postfix admin
