We have an exciting long term opportunity for a QTP VBscript Tester/Developer with one of our most dynamic clients.
The QTP VBscript Tester/Developer will be responsible for
- The primary responsibility for this opportunity will be to develop automation scripts using QTP.
- You will work with an existing automation team as a seasoned/proficient automation development resource; providing leadership, mentoring and technical knowledge.
- Designing quality test scenarios and test scripts based on requirements, functional and technical designs, and test scenarios and scripts lacking requirements or that are poorly defined.
- Writing, maintaining, and executing detailed test scripts for various test phases such as integration, functional, regression, business scenario or use case testing, user validation and acceptance testing.
- Providing day-to-day QA tasks under limited supervision.
- Assisting QA Lead and team members with the coordination, prioritization and scheduling of assigned projects and workload of the QA team.
- Providing reports to appropriate groups on test tools, scripts, and results.
- Working with project teams and QA management to determine when automated testing is appropriate and the expense warranted to improve efficiency, coverage, and overall testing effectiveness.
The QTP VBscript Tester/Developer required skills include
- 3 to 5 years of Software Quality Assurance Testing and Analysis experience is required, including strong experience running, and writing simple to complex SQL queries, building tables etc.
- Expertise in QualityCenter is required
- Must have strong experience in regression automation.
- Strong Testing as well as programming/development background are essential for this position. Background in Visual Basic, Java, and/or C# preferred. Must be able to create/write code/scripts from scratch.
- Must have strong and recent experience working with automation Scripting and testing using VBscript within QTP (QuickTest Pro)
- Must have strong SQL Scripting experience
- Certifications in Quality Assurance Testing or Test Automation desired
- The ability to recognize a problem and find a solution with little supervision and know when to escalate an issue is essential.
- Must be self-motivated, energetic, and work effectively whether working independently and/or in a team environment.
- Must be able to work extended hours when needed to meet project deadline.
- Must be detail oriented with exceptional written and oral communication skills.
