Tester in a Feature Team were we are following Agile and Lean Product Development practices.

As a Tester you will be the team's centre of competency around testing, while at the same time participate in the team's work and take whatever tasks that is required for the team to succeed in their delivery.

Specific Tasks to be performed during the engagement/Key Deliverables/Milestones:
You will be designing and executing tests for our web-based applications. We're doing deep business logic tests of a set of complex application.

Both manual and automated test are required. This will be in close collaboration with our developers.
We're expecting you to be pro-active, both in finding out what needs to be tested and in helping the developers to plan their own testing.

We like to automate tests fairly quickly, so we also need you to be very familiar with test automation.

The client would like the consultant to help to get the developers more involved in automated testing. Ideally we'd like them all to be able to run the automated tests against their local development environments.

Must have/mandatory skills:
- Certified at least to ISEB/ISTQB Foundation level
- Fluent written and spoken English
- 2 years of Full time software testing in the immediate past, including at least 1 year of test automation, preceded by either experience of or education in modern software development techniques
You probably started out as a developer and then moved to testing.
You have a passion for testing and in particular for automated testing.
You have keen eye for spotting the will it break if I do this? scenario, and you're also willing to discuss test design and scope with the developers.
You have experience in testing webapps/websites, and have knowledge of the various browser quirks. Client needs to support a broad selection of browsers, versions, languages and operating systems.

We're looking for a team player who's willing to put the team's performance above your personal performance. By making the team look good, we all look good. Collaboration and pairing on tasks is more important than individual brilliance.

We're using a custom-built framework in Java to execute Selenium tests. We use Eclipse when we develop the tests.
So the need-to-haves are:
- Some Eclipse experience
- Some Java experience
- Strong Selenium experience on at least 2 projects. We prefer at least 1 year of experience on an E-commerce web site
- Experience of working with a test automation framework

A few nice-to-haves are:
- Q Unit (JavaScript based unit testing in the browser)
- Experience with the Play! Framework (their tests use QUnit and selenium)
- Html Unit or some other headless tool (we'd like to run some of the tests without a browser getting in the way)
- Experience with content management systems
