An exciting new 6 month temporary Statutory Accountant role has arisen at a top Financial Services institution in the City.
Overview:
Our client, a top Financial Services institution in the City, is seeking a Statutory Accountant to join their team on a temporary 6 month contract.
The Role:
A qualified accountant is required with at least 3 years post qualified experience. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with the Strategic Transactions Group Reporting Team. The team is responsible for monthly management reporting (MARS), quarterly statutory accounts reporting (SARS), Basel II finance data reporting, General Ledger substantiation, preparation of dividend schedules and annual statutory financial statements.
The role requires an individual who can work well within a team, with excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
*Preparation of statutory financial statements.
*Preparation of board packs including directors' briefing notes and variance report.
*Liaising with external auditors during the audit process.
*Liaising other departments, ie Middle Office, Company Secretary and tax.
*Dealing with queries and ensuring changes on disclosures fed down from Group are accurately reflected and reported.
*Ensuring systems and processes are updated, where required.
*Ad-hoc KPI reporting to senior management.
*Dividend schedules.
Essential Experience/Skills:
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), preferably with 2 - 3 years experience in practice, ideally on audit of banks or financial services companies.
*Knowledge of IAS 32, IAS 39 and IFRS 7.
*Enthusiastic, willingness to learn and grow in the role.
*Meticulous and detailed analytical review skills.
*Good communicator at all levels.
*Confident and able to develop strong relationships with colleagues.
*Methodical, able to work to strict monthly deadlines, a strong team player.
*Caseware, or similar statutory accounting package, & iXBRL tagging, Excel, Access, Oracle, Business Objects and SAP B/W applications skills desirable.
