DESCRIPTION

The Engineer will approve testing of wireless devices in both stationary and mobile conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct technically complex wireless device test plans on devices.
  • Cell phone Quality Assurance tester.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in CS, EE or EET.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state in which the vehicle will be operated and a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion a defensive driving course.
  • Must be familiar with wireless network performance testing on topics such as network selection/reselection, RF performance, audio quality, call processing, OTA, data services, feature and application functionality, and relevant accessory testing in the local market on all devices under test.
  • More than three years of experience working for a cell phone manufacturer/Chipset vendor in an approval testing role, specifically in a wireless device approval testing role for a Wireless Network Operator.
  • Quality Assurance experience testing following detailed test procedures.
  • Any experience in cell phone/mobile device feature testing following detailed test procedures
  • Experience working for a North American Wireless Operator on GSM/UMTS Radio Access Network (RAN) as RF Engineer or RAN Performance Engineer.
  • Must have over three years of experience with configuring, testing, troubleshooting IP network issues. (Experience using tools like Wireshark to test or troubleshoot data throughput speeds)
  • MS Office Suite, must be intermediate to advanced level user of MS Excel.
  • Solid experience with troubleshooting Windows OS problems especially with regard to interfacing to modems, cell phones, other peripherals required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of cell phones, features, mobile device operating systems, Smartphone trends, wireless industry trends.
  • Must be very comfortable with modern Smartphone usage, testing and operation.
  • Superior computer skills mandatory.
