Instructional Designer
Position Description: The client Intranet group is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Writer for an approximately 6 month project. We need help in planning, designing, developing, and producing initial training and end-user reference documentation for a distributed community of content developers. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your experiences and best practices to bear in delivering cutting-edge, community-contributed and managed online documentation.
This role is based in Oakland, CA and will involve collaboration with product management, web content strategy, and development resources.
Project responsibilities include:
Draft and secure approval of a documentation plan and roadmap;
Design the training and end-user curriculum;
Author v1.0 of training tutorials and end-user documentation;
Integrate online documentation with CMS content entry system;
The candidate must possess the following attributes/abilities:
Ability to write clearly and succinctly, including conceptual information and procedural instructions
RoboHelp 7 expertise or equivalent
Good communication and documentation skills
Take initiative, work independently
Attention to detail
Nice to have:
Experience documenting web-based applications in general, and web CMS authoring systems in particular.
Experience developing Wiki-based and/or shared documentation models
