JOB SUMMARY
Financial services company seeking a Software Architect experienced in developing in scalable architectures. This person will build a platform that will accommodate two applications at first, with a growing application model. This will be on a small, flat team using Agile methodology and they need someone that can deliver from the 1st day and ramp up fast. Work is 50% architecture/50% development. They will also mentor the group for development and some offshore support. Primary flavors are C# .NET 4.0 and SQL server, as well as the latest technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and application of new technologies that create paradigm shifting competitive advantages
  • Defining, applying and supporting scalable web architectures and components
  • Defining, applying and supporting modularized systems and components
  • Defining, applying and supporting a security framework that is modular and extensible
  • Defining, applying and supporting the process of release management
  • Defining, applying and supporting deployment structures
  • Defining and creating interfaces to modularized systems
  • Defining and applying usability guidelines
  • Applying (and if needed) developing new patterns to current and future solutions
  • Defining and applying policies and procedures that allow an application to have ease of maintenance (supportability)
  • Optimizing performance in the small (modules) and the large (entire paths of workflows in the system)
  • Balancing all the competing priorities against value to the business

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and experience
  • Two (2) or more years of related software quality assurance experience
  • Experience in a Microsoft .NET and Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • Develop the next generation of scalable, massively parallel, big data based visualizations
  • Design and develop mobile interfaces
  • Remain current on evolving technologies and standards including but not limited to LAMP,
  • Greenplum, Aster, Hadoop, Nginx, Riak, Redis, ExtJS, .NET framework, HTML DOM, and CSS.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to verbalize or express complex technical concepts effectively in verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work either independently or in a team environment, depending on the task
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to demonstrate commitment to internal clients
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage internal client expectations
