IT Tech - Mobile Devices - #974
Duration: 9 months +
Location: Chicago, IL

IT Technician in the IT Tech Hub will be responsible for the setup, configuration, and restoration of IT equipment, focusing on wireless/mobile devices and laptop hardware.

Individual will be responsible for the setup and delivery of IT equipment to end-users across N. America. The Technician will work closely with the Team Leader and other team members to ensure high quality service in a timely fashion. Ability to work shifts and extended hours is required. Flexibility to work on weekends is necessary.

Particular responsibilities include:

  • Device deployment - hardware quality, configuration, software installation, quality assurance for new hire, migration, and break fix devices focusing on mobile devices and laptop hardware
  • Hardware maintenance - able to maintain/troubleshoot hardware components and peripherals for mobile devices and laptops
  • Asset management - track assets using an online inventory database
  • Administration - work with vendors to manage wireless accounts, plan features, device activation
  • Collaborate with team to develop hardware and service standards
  • Laptop software installation and configuration - Windows XP/7, MS Office, Lotus Notes

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong technical IT skills (in particular wireless mobile activation and configuration)
  • 5+ years IT experience in a corporate environment
  • 2+ years experience with mobile device deployment and asset management
  • Experience and understanding of Windows XP/7 installation, setup, and configuration
  • Exposure to networking technology, server administration preferred (MS certification a plus)
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures necessary to deploy a high volume of IT equipment
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Exceptional service attitude and sense for urgency
  • Flexible to changing schedules and work pressures
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, yet be able to take ownership for assigned projects
  • Attention to detail
