Description
Our client, located in downtown Durham, is looking for an Oracle DBA. There are 40 to 50 Oracle Production Databases with 150 Oracle Databases working. The largest Database is 5 Terabytes. Operating systems are Linux, but some Legacy Solaris exists.
REQUIREMENTS:
*At least five years progressive Oracle DBA experience.
*Experience with relational database operations and maintenance.
*Excellent Communication skills.
*Knowledge of major enterprise systems including but not limited to: Inform, Siebel, Plainisware & SharePoint.
*Knowledge of web architecture, application development, and security procedures, Good understanding of SDLC processes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO?
Provide backup and recovery services for databases; Maintain inventory of database operations resources, including (but not limited to) databases, hardware, scripts, documentation, user and system accounts; Generate scheduled database performance and use statistics; Monitor database performance using Quest PA and Oracle Grid Control; Implement security patches; Document database operations processes; Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
