Very large company with global operations is seeking to hire (2) Senior/Principle SQL Server Database Analysts for long-term positions on their database team.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzes database changes and makes suggestions to improve efficiencies.
Implementation and support of SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SSMA, SSMS.
Disaster Recovery Methodology: Backup, Log Shipping and other maintenance activities.
High availability strategies and architecture: Replication, Mirroring, SQL Clustering, and Windows Clustering.
In depth performance tuning utilizing: SQL Traces, PSSDIAG, PERFMON, Resource monitor, and SQL Dynamic Management Views.
Lead/mentor junior team members in common goals of department, and establish escalation procedures.
Data archiving (Informatica), EDW, Data Marts, Data extraction, Data transformation, Data Integration, Data Warehouseing, and Data Loading.
Regulatory compliance such as SOX, DCAA, Change Control, and audit reporting (AppGRC).
Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, and protection to eliminate any single point failure.
Develops and maintains expertise in use of automated tools for database design and implementation.
Develops, maintains and documents xp command Shell, Shell Scripts and batch processes.
Advises applications development staff and users on data based solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and operation and tuning of databases.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to diagnose performance of Microsoft Operating Systems (ie Windows Server /64 Bit and R2).
Demonstrate proficiency of web application development and relational databases.
Excellent data communication and people skills.
Current on the latest database advances within industry plus familiarity with other database platforms such as Oracle, DB2, and Enterprise DB.
Preferred Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) in one or more of the following DBA certification paths: Database Administrator 2008, Database Developer 2008, and/or Business Intelligence Developer 2008.
Basic understanding of OSI Model, Networking, Web Farms, NLB technologies, Data Marts, and Enterprise Datawarehouse.

Experience and Education

Minimum Seven (7) years experience in database administration, design, and performance tuning.
Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or two years OJT.
