Title: Wi-Fi Test Engineer

Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of cable and telephony services, is seeking several Wi-Fi Test Engineers for its Herndon, VA location. Candidate will test the new WiFi Access Points that will be deployed in 2Q 2012 and ensure they seamlessly weave into the currently-deployed infrastructure. Testing includes functional and end to end testing of WiFi Access Points, writing test scripts (using VeriWave testing platform) to automate verification of Wi-Fi radio functionalities and end to end performance, and identify any access point related operational impacts of the Wi-Fi solution. This testing and automation will be done in collaboration with a third-party test organization.

Other duties will include:
- Wireless network engineering, testing, network design, software, or systems test resulting in the successful delivery of quality WiFi products.
- Providing Engineering Support & Product Support to implementation team.
- Evaluate (drive) test data to identify performance areas. 
- Recommend RF solutions and carrying out changes to improve network performance. 
- Support RF system introduction process. 
- Should have good knowledge of various governmental regulation.

Required Skills: 
- 5-6 years experience designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging and administering some of the following: Wireless LAN products and technologies, Wireless Access Points (LWAPP a plus), Wireless Client Associations, Wireless Controllers.
- Deep knowledge of 802.11 protocol both at the physical and MAC layer. Solid working experience with 802.11a/b/g/i standards and knowledge of 802.11n.
- Experience with rate adaptation algorithms, datapath queuing systems, MIMO systems. 
- WiFi product development using industry leading WiFi chipsets. 
- Good understanding of OFDM and associate modulation schemes. 
- Familiar with current wireless physical and MAC layer test tools and methodologies. 
- Strong IP Networking protocol knowledge.
- Knowledge of 802.1Q Trunking, 802.1x, WPA WPA 2.
- Understanding of RF transmissions & antenna behavior. 
- WLAN Security in the areas of authentication, encryption, RADIUS, AAA authentication, EAP, PSK, etc.
- Linux system administration and configuration experience. 
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, IGMP, and Routing (Layer 2 & 3 communication).
