Our client, a leader in the Telecommunications field, requires the services of a Senior Network Engineer to work on Projects for the design, Integration and Optimisation of the Client's GSM and WCDMA Mobile Access Networks in NSW/ACT.
6 month initial Contract - Rate $400-$450 per day (inc Super)
The successful applicant will be expected to exploit the full range of technical solutions to improve network capacity and performance within technical and business guidelines with a particular emphasis on WBB (wireless broadband) performance.
The role is responsible for:
- Manage the performance of the State 2G/3G mobile network ensuring that KPIs are met.
- Monitor and manage the performance of all or part of the network as the network and customer base grow, performing reconfiguration work as required. Plan and execute large scale network changes.
- Assist Manager/Technical Specialist to provide regular network performance reports as well as ad hoc reporting.
- Managing projects of significant complexity from start to finish including determining of all significant technical, resource and program issues and their resolution.
- Investigate and test parts of the network as required.
- WBB Performance - Monitor network performance and user Proxy experience, Identify (Iub, CE, F2, New Sites), prioritise and request solutions. Have input into future WBB Capacity management strategies.
- Site Integration - complete and assist team members to integrate all new sites within project timeframes including Datafill, drive testing and fault resolution
- Site Design - complete RF designs within project timeframes and assist other team members on design and technical issues.
To be considered for this role you will require:-
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in Mobile networks design and optimisation.
- Sound Analytical Skills of network performance and an understanding of performance counters
- Sound 2G and 3G network optimization skills and understanding of all mobile testing equipment functionalities
- Experience in influencing business decision based upon a sound understanding of RF planning theory and practice
- Sound understanding of Radio propagation theory and modelling
- Antenna design and implementation principles
- Cellular Network Theory
- Traffic Theory
- GSM and UMTS Systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent Computer Skills
- Good hands on in NSN and/or Huawei network
- Sound and excellent refarming experience
- Sound understanding of Cellular Radio Infrastructure and Cellular Radio Features on both 2G and 3G technologies
- A good level of expertise in 2G and 3G including Inter-working technology
- Australian Driver licence
- Highly motivated team player
