Our client, a leader in the Telecommunications field, requires the services of a Materials Planner to take responsibility of Matter Supply. The right person will have been involved with  cataloguing, demand planning, material planning, purchasing, expediting and vendor relationship management.

6 month initial Contract likely to extend - Rate to $400 per day (inc Super)

The role is expected to contribute to the execution of a 3yr strategic plan that develops and builds a world's best Telco supply chain, regionalises the supply chain across the Client's group of companies and then finally implements a 'Just In Time' vendor supply business model.

The role is responsible for:

  • Active deployment of the SAP Demand Planning system and support of the Sales and Operations Planning process to ensure the appropriate level of materials requirements of the business within the area for parts allocated.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of Forecast Models.
  • Determine and ensure the generation of Purchase orders
  • Recommend for development any planning processes that enhance the current materials planning and scheduling procedures.
  • Efficient and effective liaison with all appropriate Engineering teams involved. 
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate KPIs
  • E nsure each group is informed of any material availability problems and actively pursues resolution.
  • To participate in the development and update of processes to control Engineering equipment templates used for materials planning.
  • Ensure conformance to all planning KPIs involved in the operation for the supply of goods.
  • Ensure vendors conformance to contracted KPIs
  • Implement strategies to minimise inventory and therefore costs.
  • Negotiate price based quotations for supply with vendors
  • Negotiate volume discount on substantial orders

To be considered for this role you will require:-

  • 3 years + exp  in Material Requirements Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Control
  • Proven exp in the management of Material planning process using SAP system
  • Proven capability to maintain key interfaces, monitor usage of materials, liaison with suppliers/vendors and internal Customers
  • Highly developed materials planning skills
  • Proven capability to Analyse and report on of Material consumption and Forecast
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel - including pivot tables, formulas and charts
  • Excellent administrative, coordinative and organisational skills
  • Precise numerical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within strategic, financial, commercial and policy guidelines
  • High integrity: trustworthy and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a consistently high workload, prioritise operational day to day activities and work within tight timelines
