We are currently seeking a Senior RF Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with a large Telecommunications provider.
Position Brief:- Site Integration - complete site integrations for all new sites within project timeframes including Datafill, drive testing and fault resolution.
- Design - complete designs within project timeframes, Identify candidate sites for new base station infrastructure, Using computer models or field tests, compare candidates for suitability, taking into account performance of the overall network and other relevant factors, Prepare site design documentation for new sites.
- Optimisation - Investigate and test parts of the network as directed and implement network modifications.
- Overall responsibility for design, integration and optimisation of a significant group of sites (> 40 sites) or numerous clusters.
- Refarming - develop and implement plans to clear the GSM 900 spectrum for UMTS900 whilst maintaining GSM 900 performance.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- A degree in Electrical/Electronic or Communications Engineering or similar
- Minimum 6 years experience, with strong knowledge of mobile networks and base station
- Excellent computing skills
- In depth knowledge and understanding of: Radio propagation theory and modelling; Antenna design and implementation principles; Cellular Network Theory; Traffic Theory; GSM System
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good customer focus and ability to work in a team environment
