Financial Modeller- SC Clearance, Central Government, Financial Models, Business Cases
High profile public sector role based in Milton Keynes requires a Financial Modeller for 6 months.
Overall Job Purpose:
We are looking at a short term appointment for an individual with strong commercial finance modelling experience and communication skills to take forward our financial model capability for our chosen services and markets. The increasing speed of change and widening of the activity base has led to unstructured finance models being created on an ad hoc basis. The requirement is to:
Develop standardised finance model formats and a policy for standards required for future models. The types of models currently envisaged are:
- Major bids
- Business cases
- Service delivery
Review current key models to ensure veracity and recommend developments or improvements,
You will be required to work with current owners/users and senior managers in order to ensure models reflect the requirements of the business.
Indicators of success:
- Generic model frameworks/models developed.
- Policy agreed and in place to ensure consistent development of future models to an agreed standard.
- Key existing models reviewed and changes or developments recommended.
- Models provide key information on a clear, consistent basis to ensure efficient, reliable decision making.
Essential Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Financial Modelling - Proven demonstrable ability to produce excellent financial models to a consistently high standard.
- Teamwork - particularly working with cross-functional teams.
- Customer Relationships - experience of working at all levels with a diverse workforce.
- Communication - highly developed written and oral communication skills and presentation skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of operations as a Trading Fund
- Knowledge of Government accounting regulations
The successful candidate for this role will require SC Clearance or must be able to obtain SC Clearance.
