BACKGROUND:
The Global Markets Equities business is continuing to grow and this means increasing use of the Murex 2.11 EQD platform to support both the Equity Derivatives and Cash Equity side of the business.
MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
To provide support to both Run and Change the bank initiatives around the Murex 2.11 platform. This support will be both technical and functional in nature.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working on initiatives to improve the capacity of the Murex environment.
- Development and Testing of technical and functional changes to the environment to support new business initiatives.
- Working as part of the team to provide support to traders and other end users of the system.
- Working within the Equities IT team to ensure compliance with internal change processes etc.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge:
- Specialist Skill - Murex 2.11 and preferable 3.1 Experience
- Business Knowledge and Contribution - Good knowledge of financial products including Derivatives - knowledge of Equities preferable but not a pre requisite.
- Project Management - Understanding of project management principles including Agile Development, ability to work independently and deliver to tight timelines.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 3 years and preferably 5 years Murex experience.
- Experience of working in Investment Banking environment.
- Good business understanding of Investment Banking products and related processes.
- Good knowledge of Control M scheduling tool
- Good knowledge of Unix (Solaris) and SQL (Sybase)
- Ability to come up with a technical design around the Murex system and execute this.
