Description
We require an Information Architect/User Experience Designer With Skills in Visual Design Experience 6-12 month contract based in Dublin City Centre.
The successful candidate should possess strong Information Architecture and User Experience Design skills and have a high level of proficiency in Visual Design.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Work with business sponsors, project managers, project analysts & development partners to clarify/refine project goals, user goals, target audience & project metrics.
- Conduct or participate in stakeholder workshops
- Conduct user research & gather user input with the assistance of usability specialists and business sponsors.
- Create personae's, user profiles & user scenario's
- Undertake competitive analysis.
- Define site structure & create site maps/flow diagrams.
- Produce wireframe designs & lo-company prototypes.
- Produce multiple, hi-fidelity design concepts as needed
- Assess page components, page templates illustration requirements for projects
- Produce visuals & specifications to illustrate te approved designs
- Work & communicate with other designers to document & contribute to the style guide, best practices & insure consistent look & feel to all projects
- Review development progress to insure final production is executed in accordance with style guide & approved design
- Work with development partners to ensure technical feasibility of design solutions.
- Work with usability specialists to organize usability testing.
- Ensure resources (Design, Prototyping, Usability, and Editorial) understand project roles and ensure co-ordinatlion and completion of their tasks in a timely fashion
- Design solutions for Web pages as well as Desktop applications
- Be accountable for UI deliverables and meeting project deadlines
- Lead design presentations to project team
Deliverables:
- Design team estimates
- User personae
- User scenarios, and where appropriate use cases.
- Site map and/or screen flow diagrams
- Lo-fidelity prototypes
- Hi company design concepts
- Development Handoff Inventory listing all design components delivered to development
- Final designs & specifications
- Style guide documentation for standardization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred
- 6+ years experience in Information Architecture & Design Project Management
- MS Visio, Axure, Balsamiq
- Dreamweaver, Photoshop/Fireworks
- Knowledge of usability issues relative to current web/application practices
- Knowledge of design principles and standards (including accessibility)
- Photoshop/Fireworks/Illustrator
- Knowledge of HTML & CSS
- Design experience for mobile devices an advantage
- Portfolio should reflect proven ability with, and a passion for complex interactive design challenges and solutions.
