As preferred supplier to this leading Telecommunications and Digital Media innovator, Candle have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Java professional to work on the development of pioneering new web-portals. In this role you will take ownership of the design and development of new features and functions,working in close knit agile team end to end to understand and elaborate requirements and progress from concept to completion.This is an excellent opportunity to work with "big data" and the latest open source technologies.
Essential Requirements/Experience:
Strong Java development experience
Tomcat or other servlet container experience
Experience with Apache Solr, Apache Lucene, Apache Mahout and/or Apache Hadoop
Spring MVC framework (or similar)
Experience with Eclipse IDE Practical experience with version control systems - CVS, SVN or GIT
JPA, Web services, SOAP, XML and JSON
Experience with OO patterns
Proactive with analytical and problem solving skills
Code coverage and automated testing factored into all work
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)Ideal Experience:
Experience in search engines, collaborative filtering or machine learning
Strong statistics/mathematical competency
Experience working within agile teams
Previous digital media/website/portal experience.
