IS Tester

The Project:
- Define Test Cases based on the iteration plan following the methodology described in the Test Strategy
- Devise and propose ways to test the non-functional requirements of the system
- Implement Test Cases and set up a Test Suite than can be run automatically on the pre-defined test tools and frameworks to verify that the tasks have been completed appropriately and that the resulting work products are acceptable in terms of agreed metrics
- Carry our Test Cases manually and record test results, document faults and failures and follow up on their correction by developers
- In case Test Cases cannot or should not be executed manually, elaborate a User Manual with instructions on how to run these and how to interpret results
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be expected to possess the following:
- University degree and minimum 6 years of specific experience in the testing of IT systems and applications, especially web-based application and web services
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium
- Good knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures, preferably with Oracle SOA suite
- Knowledge of metrics and quality assessment techniques in the context of IT systems
- Capability to write test cases and test scripts. Very good command of various test automation tools is mandatory
- Experience with statistical machine translation and application in that area (eg. Moses) as well as knowledge of Java JEE, C++ will be considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good Team spirit and able to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
This opportunity is for a large system implementing wide requirements and business rules in the scientific area. Therefore, previous experience in large, complex systems using the mentioned technologies is required.
