Our client, a leader in the Telecommunications field, requires the services of a Contracts Manager/Technology Lawyer with solid experience in technology contracting, an understanding of project risks, live system risks and critical systems and an understanding of Australian Consumer Law. 6 month initial Contract - Rate to $650 per day (inc Super)

The Contract Manager will drive tangible business benefits by providing risk identification and analysis, drafting, negotiation and contract maintenance services to Procurement commercial teams and the business on tenders and other Procurement activities. The Contract Manager will support the Legal team on complex matters and obtain appropriate internal approvals to ensure compliance and risk management within the procurement framework. NOTE: It is a requirement that you have at some some stage in your career been employed as a Lawyer, either within a legal firm, or a large corporate environment.

The role is responsible to:
Work as a contributing team member to the Procurement Contract Management Team in a busy environment; Ensure that the legal and commercial integrity of procurement contracts maximise benefits; Effectively execute specific activities in the Contract Management cycle related to contract creation, storage and maintenance for transactions of simple to medium complexity.

Key accountabilities in the role will be to:-
Acquire and maintain knowledge relevant Network systems in order to manage individual accountabilities; Evaluate legal, commercial, operational and finance risk and complexity of transactions to minimise risk; identify and resolve contractual issues; provide practical advice in negotiations and contract management; establish strong relationships with key interfacing departments, including the transfer of complex and bespoke transactions to Legal with appropriate briefing in a timely manner; Negotiate, finalise and obtain approval for procurement contracts based on standard precedents and within broad policy guidelines, while maintaining the client's position in negotiations with difficult and global suppliers; Provide advice and support with tenders, contracts and other procurement documentation. Prepare and review commercial, technical and operational documentation; Identify and act as a liaison among corporate stakeholders; Manage variations throughout the life of the contract ; Maintain sound relationships with suppliers; In anticipation of potential conflicts, work with Legal to obtain and provide strategic advice on relevant matters; Work in a Contract Lifecycle Management system to support the above activities

To be considered for this role you will require:-
5+ years previous experience in a similar relevant role. 5 years contract management experience, including drafting and negotiating contracts. Ability to rapidly familiarise themselves with new areas of business and law; Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; Strong willingness to provide practical
