Our large government client is looking for a Systems Administrator to work with them on this high profile port-folio of work. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone looking to take the next step in their IT career by joining a well established enterprise environment. This is an initial 6 month contract based in the CBD.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work towards the planning, scheduling and delivery of all the Data Centre functions and activities by adhering to established standards and procedures to ensure:
     efficient operation of all computer hardware, software, on-line systems, facilities system management and monitoring tools;
     the Data Centres and other areas housing ICT infrastructure are monitored using tools and physical visits to ensure that un-scheduled outages are kept to a bear minimum.
  • Provide quality and timely scheduling services to customers and create and maintain processing schedules to established standards and procedures.
  • Arrange regular maintenance of the ICT infrastructure located in Data Centres and other areas housing ICT infrastructure.
  • Accurately record all equipment faults and program errors and report to established standards and procedures.
  • Remain abreast of changes to equipment, operations systems and applications and identify and recommend enhancements to the operations functions, activities and programs
  • Ensure media library and offsite media storage are maintained to established standards and procedures. That all systems are monitored and full and accurate recovery of failed systems, jobs or backup is achievable;
  • Pro-actively identify potential opportunities for increasing existing services/providing new services to customers.
  • Interact with Principal and Senior/Technical Consultants on business planning, technical direction and product/service development, and provides input as required.
  • Developing strategies to continually improve work procedures and customer service.
  • Provide timely accurate and purposeful monitoring of on-line systems according established standards and procedures. 
  • This position may have some on call arragenments by negotiation.
