Description
Main Responsibilities
- First/Second line support and maintenance of the storage and backup infrastructure used in the production systems.
- Managing the incidents and requests that come into the storage team.
- Daily monitoring of all storage and backup environments.
- Ensuring best practice in storage management procedures and principles are followed.
- Ensure smooth operation of the storage and backup infrastructure to meet Service Level targets.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Storage Management administration skills, including an understanding of the fundamental aspects of Disaster Recovery
- Problem diagnosis and resolution skills
- Knowledge of Veritas Netbackup in a secure environment
- An understanding of IBM Tape libraries and architecture
- Knowledge of NetApp Filer Storage Equipment
- Knowledge of EMC DMX, VMax, Clariion and Centera Storage arrays
- An understanding of EMC Storage replication technologies - Timefinder/SRDF
- Knowledge of Brocade DCX and McData SAN Switches, Routers and directors
- Knowledge of EMC Solutions Enabler, Navisphere, EMC Control Center, Connectrix Manager and Data Ontap.
- Good understanding of Solaris, AIX and Windows operating systems and their relevant virtualisation technologies in relation to the presentation and management of storage and backups.
- Good understanding of File systems, Volume Managers and Databases.
- Strong PC literacy in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Good interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain close relationships with departments
- A flexible and can do' attitude
