Description
The contract is with a large consultancy in Brussels to be on a long assignment at a European site. The end client is is looking for a database administrator for a new application, which manages a complex Sickness Insurance Scheme. This application. is built upon an Oracle 10 database, the user interface is based on Flex, and several internal engines will be written in PL/SQL (rights engine, tarification engine, etc.). The new application will progressively replace the old application, which was built using Oracle Forms 3.0 development tool.
Task Description:-
Participate in all stages of database engineering life cycle, from entity relationships model to physical database design of Oracle databases; Analyse, review, improve and document existing and future database components; Develop complex PL/SQL store procedures, functions and packages that implement business logic; Provide assistance to development team members in writing complex SQL queries; Provide daily support of the application and assistance to other development teams; Provide expertise to improve the efficiency, quality and reliability of the new application.
Technical skills
A specific expertise of minimum 5 years with Oracle data analysis and database design is required; Very good knowledge of Oracle 10g features and concepts, SQL & PL/SQL; knowledge of new Oracle 11g features is an asset; Deep knowledge of entity relationship model, ability to read and understand UML diagrams; Deep knowledge of Oracle*Designer, TOAD, SQL*Plus & Oracle utilities; A good knowledge of Pro*C language would be an asset.;A good knowledge of Unix Scripts would be an asset. Languages:- must have ENGLISH. Also some FRENCH is a bonus.
