General Ledger Team Leader (Underwriting)

Our Client, one of the countries leading insurance groups, seeks an Underwriting Ledger Team Leader, for a 6 month temporary contract, to manage, coordinate and help develop the Underwriting Ledger Team.

A fantastic team leading opportunity, primarily the role will be to manage the Underwriting Ledger Team resources so that all deliverables are achieved in accordance with agreed performance targets including;

*To ensure appropriate reviews and controls are in situ and completed
*To monitor performance of activities
*To complete regular performance reviews
*To ensure appropriate training opportunities are provided to the Underwriting Ledger Team
*To identify and participate in the implementation of new accounting tools to improve efficiency of Team
*To build and maintain relationship networks
*To support the General Ledger Manager with external auditors relationship management during audit reviews
*To assist the General Ledger Manager with involvement in organisational initiatives and changes that impact the Team

The successful applicant will be AAT or equivalent qualified have good knowledge of Insurance industry practices, a working knowledge of accounting requirements and the ledger system and previous experience of managing and developing a team. They will be strong manager and motivator, possess good written and oral communication skills, have the ability to identify and resolve problems and be IT literate.
