Marketing manager required with a leading Energy supplier in Glasgow.

Scope of role

To develop, manage and implement a SME marketing strategy to aid the acquisition and retention of SME customers:

Contribute to the achievement of Energy customer retention and acquisition targets
Ensure compliance with Energy supply licence requirements
Assist with the delivery of the wider Brand strategy

The Marketing Manager will work within SME Business Sales and will report into the Retention Sales Manager. The SME Retention Sales Manager will assign marketing activity in line with business priorities. More specific responsibilities include:

Develop, manage and implement marketing activity aimed at:
Minimising losses, increasing value from existing customers and projecting key Energy Retail brand values.
Generating leads for all SME acquisition channels
Ensuring compliance with Energy licence requirements relating to the provision of mandatory information to customers.
Supporting and consolidating sales activity
Manage the full creative development process with external Marketing agencies, ensuring all internal stakeholders are managed effectively and appropriate sign off is secured for marketing activity.
Locate, implement and manage appropriate response handling for inbound campaigns and contact capacity for outbound activity as required. Ensure that relevant briefing, training and call centre support is available for all marketing activity.
Develop annual plan/budget and review and refine on a quarterly basis to ensure effective and measurable results
Effectively manage the budget for tasks within their campaign portfolio, maximising cost efficiencies from both internal and external suppliers.
Optimise the efficiency and cost effectiveness of all marketing activity by implementing reporting and evaluation processes in conjunction with Market Research & Database Unit, Finance and external agencies where relevant.
Develop a 'test and learn' process for new retention and acquisition activity
Work closely with Product and Pricing team to maximise the effective promotion of the product portfolio within marketing activity.
Respond quickly and effectively to competitor activity and business opportunities as they arise.

This role focuses on Energy Retail marketing activity directed towards the SME sector. The role carries Budget management authority for expenditure relating to Energy Retail marketing campaigns. The SME Retention Sales Manager will confirm the specific Budget level associated with each campaign as part of the planning process.

Skills and experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification
Proven track record of delivery in Marketing essential
Experience of running integrated Marketing Campaigns essential
Skilled communicator with effective influencing skills
Numerate and analytical
Project management experience preferred
PC Literate
